There are numerous restaurants in the towns and villages around the Mar Menor most specialise in seafood. Those listed are just a selection of the many restaurants in the villages. Most are very busy in summer but not surprisingly very quiet in the winter. Out of season, other than at weekends a large number of the restaurants in the villages will be closed so it's often a good idea to head for the ones close to, or in La Manga Club.
Malvasia
This is a top quality restaurant with probably the finest food and wine in the area. The menu is typical of what you would find in the best restaurants, beautifully cooked and presented. The difference is the slight oriental twist to the ingredients and flavours. The owner is a wine expert and the range available is staggering. If you get the chance, take his advice.
El Faro
A well-established restaurant in the heart of Cabo de Palos offering a good selection of tapas and Spanish cuisine.
El Navegant
Located in Cabo do Palos with a wonderfully elevated position overlooking the bay.
El Pez Rojo
Centrally located set slightly back from the harbour it offers a good selection of fish and seafood.
La Taberna Del Peurto
It has seats at the waters edge just before the corner at the top where the water end. The restaurant itself is set back. Recommended for a wonderful seafood platter and goats cheese salad.
La Tana
Located in a prime location next to the entrance of the fishing harbour, La Tana has a great selection of seafood and paella. In the summer sit outside and watch a selection of boats come into the harbour while you eat a delicious meal.
Miramar
Miramar enjoys a good location in the heart of Cabo de Palos next to the harbour, and has an excellent reputation for fish and other seafood dishes.
Restaurante Chino
Set back down the same side road as Mercadona. This is not the world's most authentic Chinese restaurant however, it's very popular and with good reason. The food portions are overwhelming and it is very cheap.
Campoverde
Located between Los Belones and the neighbouring village of Los Nietos, Campoverde is very popular with the Spanish particularly for Sunday Lunch. Big, (canteen like?) bustling and usually very busy, it offers traditional Spanish dishes and is excellent value for money.
El Pellizquito
In the back streets of Los Belones near the church. Specialises in meat dishes particularly lamb. Very informal, but good food at reasonable prices.
La Fuente
Located in the "Hermitage Centre", we are told that the english speaking staff provide an excellent service and that the food is beautifully presented.
Rierpi
Located in the centre of Los Belones. Simple Spanish food at low prices. Good Spanish tapas at lunchtimes. Popular with local residents as well as expats.
The Village
A long established and popular restaurant. Under new mangement since sometime in 2007. Varied international menu with something for every taste including old favourites which have been on the menu for years.
Via Romana
A real favourite due to good quality food (mainly pizza and pasta), friendly and efficient staff and good prices.
La Canela
Located in the lemon groves down a small track off the road that links La Manga Club to the motorway. Good food and excellent wine in nice surroundings.
Maribel
Previously located in Los Belones, but now relocated to a lovely rural setting close to La Manga Club. The food is as good as ever, with a varied menu and a good selection of meat and fish dishes.
La Rusticana
Located on the road leading to the west golf course at La Manga Club - on the left just before the Maribel. Excellent, friendly service and the menu offers a wide variety of meat (including steaks which are excellent) and fish dishes.
